January 7

So i just noticed that there is lots to read so ill print it.  first
don't worry about the pudding but send more hot cocoa.
So thanks Dave for your letter. it encouraged me. yes i am being good
but sometimes with a companion  that sleeps in, ya i could too, easy.
But its true the Lord knows even if the president doesn't haha.

Thank the Carrigan and Wells family for the Christmas card- its was way cool.
Also i got a letter from a elder from the MTC- a Latin and he sent
photos from my comp in the mtc. i was confused but now i get it. they
are companions, its pretty cool..

So i want to share a story i learned this week. of mishac, shadrac and
abendigo. In the Bible in Daniel.  so in short they were sent to the
oven basically and the king saw 4 people not 3. first we know the Lord is
always with us. Also after they left the oven they didn't even smell
like fire, they were not stained not even the smell. Its like us in
the world. There are so many things that can stain us. Some people are in
the world and have there clothes little burnt, others just there hairs
others live with he smell of the fire. But in order to arrive to
live with God we cant even have the smell.  like in 2 Ne. says we are
free to choose life or .. i don't remember the word. captivity maybe..
so that we don't get stained we have to do what it says in Jacob 1:19
I think. If we are already members. if not. 3 Ne. 27: 20 something like
that. Be baptized.  this is what i learned. its pretty... cool i want
you guys to apply it.

So this week was crazy. We had a baptism but the next day we went over
there and she said in 2 years. And said she doesn't want us to come now
until she is ready... it made me pretty mad.  When People know what
they have to do but don't do it. that was really discouraging.  But
ya..  Other stuff, almost every day in the  morning there has not been water.
the other day no watter or power.. the other day no power all day .
the phone died and we couldn't contact the zone leaders and they
needed us to send the record of the baptisms. Also those of my
district didn't answer there phone so we had to go to San Pedro De
Cajas.  They weren't there they had gone to Tarma. Because i communicated
bad.. at least they are forgiving ha ha.

Its hard here. it makes me think of too many things because there isn't much
success but we are still working. The thing is i don't know what to do
and my companion doesn't help tons in that aspect. But i am trusting in the
Lord to tell me what i can do.  The only thing keeping my companion from
being a senior companion or DL is to be more obedient and do more than the
minimum.  And not be so lazy sometimes. haha sound like a lot but its
not. so ya

still shoveling.

love ya

Happy Birthday Kelsey!!!!!!!

This week went real well. we had not just one but 2 baptisms. it was
awesome I'll tell you all about it.  But the picture I'm sending I want
to explain.  So our room is big and we found chest pieces so we played
on the ground, the gringo is the elder in my district  just so you
know. And i did win ha ha.
So the first baptism i already told you and this picture is of that but
the other was a miracle.  But i didn't take my camera... so i don't have
pictures.  But it's a girl, 16 years she has asked for months but the
missionaries haven't been able to get her permission. So we went and it was
the first time that the parents let the missionaries come in.  So we
just got to know them and then we started to ask about the baptism
what they think and we started to teach. The dad accepted even to
prepare for a baptism too but the mom was more hard to get to
understand and in the end the girl bore her testimony and the spirit
filled the room it was the first time that the mom had listened to
her.  And we left her with the permission paper and asked her to
.. pray about it and then sign if you feel right.
well she signed it the next day, and Sunday her daughter got
baptized and her parents came to see it and came to see the
confirmation. it was an awesome experience for us.   so we ended our
second week here with 2 baptisms. not bad for opening an area. we are
blessed so much. i know it but we are working hard. maybe we can have
another this week. pray for us.

It rains every day here. yesterday it rain so bad.  But it made me feel
more like a missionary working in the rain- its weird.  we got soaked to
the bone. so cold..  I do get along with my comp we are super friends
i can learn from him,  but he can learn from me too.  it's always like that.

Today we are going to have an activity for end of the year and we did a
game with questions and it s going to be so cool.  i hope people
brings friends.

We did divisions and i went to San Pedro. There was 3 of us there with
only 2 beds guess who slept on the floor... and it was cold also.  But
it went well.  its weird being district leader i kinda don't know what
to do.  and what I was going to teach tomorrow in the class. The zone
leader who came to do divisions did it without knowing. At least i was
thinking the something.

its so cold that i can hardly type.

oh Dave thanks for the letters and thanks to your family.  i did enjoy it
even though it kinda chewed me out and got after me ha ha  that's about
it for this week. hope next week its warmer ha ha.  jamas!!

lucky the power came back

cant wait to talk Tuesday.
first. the book Jesus the Christ make it back with my letter to you guys
from Mcghie?

oh and i love the tie you sent. I think its my favorite. the package got
here but i don't get it till Thursday.

So I'm in a new area.  junin.  one of the coldest areas of the mission
on top of it. We are opening an area. like the last transfer there
weren't missionaries here. And they made me district leader.... kinda
threw a lot on me. also my companion is kinda bad.  The zone leader said
he is here for law and i need to help him.. yeah....also in the past
year here there has been only one baptism. it was a child. but we
already have a baptism... how lucky and we are working good its just
really cold.   I sleep with 5 big blankets ha ha. the town is  an hour
from everything also.

yesterday after the church my comp and i kinda broke down cuz its
pretty terrible here but then we encouraged ourselves again.  its hard.
so ill call Tuesday but maybe more late than you want cuz i have to
take and pass information to the zone leader ill call like 8 or 830 in
your time.   i really have nothing else.. so ill read what you sent
thanks

December 17

So Tuesday we had meetings and my comp went to  Lima for emigrations
and i was with the leader missionary. But our zone Leaders burned us. But it was
deserved and it motivated me to work harder so it worked, and it really is
what we needed.  The thing is the whole zone had only one baptism.
that is nothing... ya

Ya this family of David and Angela and their daughters Cielo and
Geraldine are awesome they came to our baptism of Foust of 82 years
ha ha and  they liked it. They keep wanting to hear of the temple.
David asked his wife in the lesson; do yo want to be with me for
ever. she said yes. i almost cried. The other daughter said to her
dad when we weren't there. i don't want them to baptize me because then
the missionaries wont come anymore.    ha ha this is the
family that hid from us like 2 months ago. God works in funny ways.
But the hardest thing is I'm most likely to be transferred and heading out. its
super sad. I've worked hard here but i wont be able to see the fruits.
but that's my pride talking i should just accept the  will  of God and i
do. i understand. But it'll be hard. it's really humbling..

But the baptism, so we told the bishop he said he would be there. we
filled the fount in the morning and return the keys to him like he said.
and he knew we did. 7 pm no one is in the church we go to the bishops
house to at least get the keys. no one is home.  We call him and call
him. doesn't answer. finally he does. i ask if we can use the keys . "oh
you guys don't have them". no  bishop you wanted them back. oh and no
one is in my house. yes we know that ( but i talked really nice to him
don't worry. but i wanted to put him in his place.)  so are you going
to come?  No i cant make it I'm with the family... that's how it went and
no one else has keys .   Almost no one came from the ward even though
we told every  one. But the family we are teaching and the brother
of Fausto we are teaching him too.  So we had to go up to the other
church and do a baptism with the other sister  missionaries. It turned
out really good just makes me mad...  but yup the life of a missionary
 got to love it...

so love you all, hope its all well

now ill take a sec to read

December 10

So,  a  funny story i was dreaming that i sat up in my bed and i wanted to get out but i couldn't find the floor with my feet, so i thought just a little more. ya i fell.  In my dream i was in the lower bunk but i sleep in the top.  For real. i fell. i landed on my feet fine but  then i woke up. it hurt so bad my legs. but i couldn't do anything about  it so i climbed back up and slept. my comp tells everyone and they laugh way hard.

So  Fousto the 83 year  old is going to get baptized this week.  Also we finally got to teach the whole family of David and Angela.  i don't know if you remember we found them the second week of last transfer.  But they like hid from us.This time we knew that if they didn't feel anything we were done for.  But in the end they were all crying. the spirit was strong the next day we went and we watched the  testaments about when Christ came  to the America's. They had read that part in the Book of Mormon that night but not only that chapter but the next two.   Well the water works again. We put a date for the baptism and the daughter of  8 years said, but why not today. ha its a family  of  4. i hope all goes well. my companion went to Lima today to do immigrations but  ya  I'm with my mission leader  really cool guy.   So that's kinda it for now. thanks to all,  love ya all.

December 3

Family and Friends,

So first i have to tell about yesterday, church was crazy there were
little kids playing and making bunch of noise out side and we could
hear all of it so we had to leave and tell them to enter or leave. we
had to tell them like 3 times.  They were climbing the wall and fences.
So i didn't get to enjoy the meeting. Then the bishop said that we
needed to give the lesson in class. I have no idea what it was on but we winged
it. It was the part with Mormon at  the end with all the wicked people in such
little time turned so wicked.  In the end basically i proclaimed
repentance to everyone  and i felt the spirit testifying. i think i
spoke the best Spanish of my life.  but this is what this ward needs-
to repent. Us as missionaries also, but ya. i felt like i followed the
spirit.

So today we don't even have p-day just to write is all. Friday the pres.
comes for a p-day with him.  cool i guess ha.  but E. Uceta of the
seventy came to train us in a conference.  we, my companion and i looked
pretty dumb in a practice that we did in front of everyone but we
learned. basically he just burned us all out. but  we are pretty good
he admitted.  i learned tons more than i can write.

Our investigator, of 83 finally came to church. 2 weeks he will get
baptized!  a family that we told them that they have to get married is
now hiding from us and a sure baptism didn't attend the church
yesterday.  we're in a hard time right now.   well that's the life here
hope things are well at home
love ya all.

November 26

family!

Well we have had a good week. 2 baptisms and we fulfilled the goal of 4
this month. big achievement in the area. And was a miracle.  He was
going to get baptized Saturday but we couldn't find him. but he came to
the baptism of Merry  ( it would have been his too) and he did like it.
so the next day Sunday we went and he told us that Sunday at 8 he
wanted to be baptized. it was awesome . he is named Amilkar.  He knew
the missionaries for some time. his 4 sisters, younger are members but
his 3 older brothers and his  parents aren't.  he was so ready . also
the end of his baptism his mom gave him a hug, and not going to lie it
made me miss mom a ton. love ya mom.

the baptism of Merry of 72 years was kinda funny. it was kinda cold the
water, and she like didn't want to go under. after i said the prayer she took
like a full minute or more for her to let me baptize her. it was kinda
funny.

We have a investigator of 83 year. Fousto . He wanted to see a
baptism and  he came and liked it a lot. i think this next month he
will be baptized. I'm super excited. he is still like working every day
in carpentry it's crazy.

The husband of our pench (land lord) was talking with a kid last night we passed
by and said  hi.  he told us the kid is less  active and  that he
needs to return. i don t even remember what i said. something about
his family in the future but i felt the spirit testifying of my words
it was something i cant even explain but was cool. he is from a
different part kinda of far away but i told him i loved him and to do
what was needed.  i hope he can make the right choices.

really not  a  lot more to write. just sent pictures. of our p day planned
for the  sister missionaries last week.  all is well  I'm now used
to being sick all the time.  my comp is   Chevere.

love you all. now I'm going to read your letters
